Nightclub queen Meng Zhixiao recently had her fortune told.
The fortune-teller said she was doomed to bad luck this year, and that she had to marry a man with water in his name to ward it off.
After searching all the major dating and matchmaking sites, Meng Zhixiao picked someone.
He also worked in finance. He was excellent in every way, a handsome, upstanding man and a highly desirable, family-oriented bachelor on the marriage market.
To "defy fate," Meng Zhixiao catered to his tastes, played sweet and obedient, and won him over.
Married life really did go smoothly. Meng Zhixiao got what she wanted, but still felt a little dissatisfied.
Her husband was too obedient, and life had far less excitement than before.
During lunch break, she sighed to a coworker in the break room:
"He's handsome, but so boring. He has no ambition, and he's no good in that department either."
Her coworker perked up at the last part. Meng Zhixiao was too busy complaining to notice that the CEO, who rarely came to the office, had just walked past them.
That night, Meng Zhixiao was astonished to discover that her usually gentle husband had suddenly become a completely different person, and she could barely take it.
At the group's meeting the next day, Meng Zhixiao held her aching waist and saw that the long-empty CEO's seat was occupied.
The man in the seat wore a custom-tailored suit and exuded elegance and nobility, surrounded by senior executives. He looked exactly like the office drone at home who had nearly killed her the night before.
Jiang Shiyue: Is this exciting enough for you now, honey? :D
