The Cang Mountains bear the snow, while the southern sky shines bright. Bathe in the moonlight, and return carrying the wind and snow.
[Elegant, fallen princess x clear-minded, radiant minister]
Synopsis One:
When Princess Kunyi was young, she once met a boy.
He was a humble scholar of little consequence, yet richly talented and dazzlingly brilliant. The world praised his natural beauty, comparing him first to a white crane among the clouds, then to pure, glistening dew.
The princess fell for him, but she never expected the boy's heart to be as unyielding as stone, unmoved by her feelings.
Mingyu was the emperor's legitimate daughter, cherished by the empress and backed by the crown prince. How could she tolerate his cold treatment? She withdrew her affections and went back to being a carefree little princess. Later, someone asked, "Princess, why not seek out Rong Zhuo again?"
Him? She answered offhandedly, "He's just a common scholar. He's not worth my attention."
But when she turned around, she saw the boy's ashen face. In his arms was the orchid she loved most.
After that, Rong Zhuo passed the imperial examinations with top honors six times in a row, threw in his lot with Prince Qi, and rose through the ranks, gradually becoming the most powerful man at court.
Later, the emperor died, and the crown prince was exiled to a bitter, desolate borderland. Prince Qi, the person she got along with worst, took the throne.
Just then, news spread that the Liao people had come to the capital to ask for a princess's hand in marriage. With no other choice, she swallowed her pride and went to visit Rong Zhuo, never expecting...
"Princess, do you remember what you said?"
"You said I was unworthy."
His voice flowed like music, clear and ringing, yet colder than the wind and snow outside the window.
So he really did hold a grudge.
Synopsis Two:
That day, the emperor wanted to betroth Princess Jiarou to him. Dressed in white, serene and composed, he respectfully declined: "This humble subject has someone in his heart. Please forgive me for disobeying the emperor's command."
The emperor asked, "The capital's noble young ladies have gathered here today. Is the person you speak of among them?"
Mingyu looked up at him along with everyone else. Rong Zhuo's voice was calm as he stared straight ahead and replied, "No."
She would never know that when Rong Zhuo said "No," he meant that she was not before his eyes, but was hidden in his heart.
No matter how much he restrained himself or kept his composure, in the end, he could not withstand a single moment of love.
Though my heart is stone, it cannot withstand the tenderness that winds around my fingers.
Note:
The heroine has her own ambitions and isn't as simple as she seems. Neither of the two times she approaches the hero is purely because she likes him.
No scheming villainesses.
