[Korean Showbiz] Let's Not Fall in Love

Life is a gamble. That was a lesson Kim Euncheol learned as a child. That's why she could come to Seoul alone and work toward the faint hope of debuting. That's why she could go from being "that silly girl from the countryside" in middle school to the legendary "Kim Euncheol." That's why she could start over after being advised to quit, and survive a flood of scathing reviews. That's why her love life could become a subject of envy and sighs, and why she could be the most dazzling presence of all. That's why... she always attracted people as obsessive as herself, while she was drawn to people completely different from her. But she could never hold on to them. Even though danger lurked everywhere in that world of flowers and flashing lights, she would never make a misstep. She wove a rose out of lies, and no one could refuse that rose. "So what do you think I'm like?" "Young, rich, talented, and exceptionally beautiful. You have everything most people dream of." "Yes, it couldn't sound any better." "Then why are you tormenting yourself?" "I'm not." If Lee Taemin was the moon and the sea to Kim Euncheol, and Lee Taeyong was the orange grove and freedom, then Kwon Jiyong must have been... the North Star and a light bulb? It may not sound romantic, but it was real and steadfast. He was her spinning top at the boundary between dreams and reality, the truth within her lies. Reader's note: 1. My previous blurb was a little misleading, so I've changed it. If it still seems off, please let me know and I'll think of another way to revise it. This story is half career and half romance. There are three relationships, each taking up roughly a third of the story. The male lead gets a little more page time and appears throughout, but his story is concentrated mainly in the final fifty or sixty chapters. 2. The story is already complete! It has 123 chapters and about 400,000 characters. 3. I'm posting completed chapters daily at six every evening. I've been rather busy lately, so I'll probably check the comments once every week or two. If needed, I'll make revisions. 4. The heroine really does have a few problems in the head. I wrote this purely to relieve stress because I was under too much pressure. The plot has plenty of logical holes. I'm posting it as a memento of this miserable period in my life. 5. The heroine's early characterization was inspired by GFRIEND, so they won't appear in the story. It's a partially fictionalized setting, and the timeline is a mess, so don't overthink it. If there's anything else you think I should mention in advance, leave me a message. I'll add it when I see it. Lastly, heartfelt thanks to everyone still willing to read my clumsy story. Sending you love. Theme: Growing up.
