The saffron buried away will eventually return to the world. The crimes kept shackled and suppressed will eventually be brought to an end.

Song Xi is a star at school, with countless achievements and multiple competition awards to his name. He's the heartthrob of Linghong No. 1 High School, combining good looks with real ability.

But the heartthrob bears his burdens in silence. He has nightmares at night, forces himself to act cheerful during the day, and gradually grows more and more listless.

A house sale brings him into contact with a transfer student from overseas.

After that, whether he's out having fun or at school, he keeps running into him.

Song Xi can't understand why this man keeps crossing his path.

Every time they're alone together, Song Xi feels that the man is familiar. Because of him, some of Song Xi's memories begin to return one by one.

"Have we met before?"

"Our meeting wasn't just a coincidence, was it?"

Liu Shuo goes to great lengths to get news of Song Xi from other people. To have a legitimate reason to see him, Liu Shuo transfers back to China.

It's a gamble with no turning back. Liu Shuo knows the stakes are like an iron chain wrapped around both their necks.

But the memories are agonizing, filled with screams and the helplessness of being unable to change what happened.

"Song Xi, don't blame me. I didn't dare let you remember. Do you understand?"

"Song Xi, I spent nearly twenty years saving your life. I don't have the courage to lose you again."

Tears ran down his face. When Liu Shuo closed his eyes, he felt the same warmth touch his shoulder.

Sobbing, Song Xi punched Liu Shuo in the back again and again, then said the words he'd long prepared.

"You've been a part of me, more important than my own life, for a long time. I won't blame you. We'll put an end to all this horror together. We can do it."

My writing is amateurish, and some scenes may be upsetting. (There are scenes involving cross-dressing. I'm still learning how to write, and my character descriptions are lacking. I even turn characters' dialogue into narration. I'll revise the story later, so please bear with me.)

The romance develops very slowly.
