[Please add my upcoming book, "An All-Round Superfan, Earning 100,000 a Day," to your favorites~] Jiang Youning, the entertainment industry's famous white lotus, has been exposed. In just one week, she goes from being "a celestial beauty" to a notorious liar everyone wants to tear down. The star herself says, "Maybe I should quit the industry and open a shop." System (straightens tie) (makes a grand entrance): Host, I can save you, but you'll have to promise never to lie again. Jiang Youning: Oh. Then I'd rather quit the industry. Quitting isn't an option. The System forcibly binds itself to her, so Jiang Youning starts doing whatever she wants. An actress in her group stirs up trouble, arranges for articles claiming Jiang Youning got her role through connections, and even smears her at an open set visit to force her off the production. Jiang Youning fires right back: That all-powerful paparazzo can take a photo of Director Xu staying next door to me, so how come he can't photograph you sleeping in Producer Wu's room every day? The fans at the event: ??! -- She really did leave the production, just not the person they expected. She joins a puzzle-solving variety show. A male newcomer in her group, who's waiting for his big break, has a script in hand and plans to show off, soar to success, and become a top-tier star. But Jiang Youning calmly gives all the correct answers. The audience is dumbfounded: Could she really be a genius? When the male newcomer makes snide remarks, Jiang Youning sneers: Do you think everyone has a station chief for a father who can get them the script ahead of time, like you? The male newcomer is horrified. Netizens: Holy crap, there's gossip! -- The once-promising star's rise comes to an abrupt end before it even gets going. Competition for the Golden Plum Awards is fierce, and in the end the award goes to a veteran Best Actor. During the group interview, everyone sings his praises and gushes about how prestigious the award is. Jiang Youning sneers: Prestigious? How can you take a prize that's handed out like pork distribution seriously? The Best Actor's fans: You're so desperate to get famous, aren't you? But the next day, a famous industry paparazzo livestreams the details of the Golden Plum Awards fraud, implicating a whole group of "industry insiders." -- That day, netizens spent the entire day reading apology letters. With the System's help, Jiang Youning takes on the whole industry. Instead of being hated, she gets more and more popular, and countless netizens call her "the entertainment industry's quality inspector," "the PR watchdog," and "the escaped human lie detector." Jiang Youning (weakly): ...Thanks. I don't actually want to do this. * When Pei Zhi was little, he came down with a fever for no reason. After that, he discovered that he'd gained an ability: he could tell with his own eyes whether someone was lying. He didn't know exactly why, but whenever someone lied, a patch of red light appeared above their head. Growing up, he saw too many people lie, even those closest to him. Living for so long in a world full of red light made him feel like the glare would blind him. Just as he came to believe that nobody in this world could tell the truth, he met an extraordinary woman who always called people out whenever she heard them lie. The moment he looked at her, his world became clear and bright. ※ ◆ The System's core ability is to prevent people from lying. In theory, anyone can be punished by it. With her energy and talent, she deserves to earn a hundred.] [It's no exaggeration to call her my idol's benefactor. I honestly don't begrudge her the money.] [More than anything, I want to see everyone she's supported on a variety show together, then ask her which one she loves most.] Shi Yao: ? I just wanted to make money. Theme: Don't lie.
