In Indian mythology, the serpent god Vasuki could no longer bear the agony and spat out a deadly poison, which nearly spread to all living things on the waves of the Ocean of Milk. Shiva saved them by drinking all the poison, but it burned his throat and turned his head and neck a deep blue-black. Perhaps that was when the color blue became inextricably linked with poison, bitterness, and pain. For all the countless beings in this world, simply living means being bound to suffering. All beings suffer.
Humans suffer when they are devoured by ghouls, and ghouls suffer because the world rejects them. Everyone is adrift in a sea called pain, as if they are about to drown.
But... is it really all right to keep drowning in this sea of suffering forever? Must it be this way?
Why can't it be different? Why can't we cross this sea and reach happiness?!
The moment people resolve to seek happiness and bring lives so wretched they are practically in the negatives back to zero, perhaps it is already decided: they will cross the sea of suffering, no matter how painful it is.
The group of people determined to cross that sea, the ghouls determined to swim across it, call themselves the Cyan Aquarium.
