A corgi sits at Chun He’s doorstep. When it sees her, it acts like they’re old friends, happily wagging its tail around her feet.
She calls the number on its collar, and the young man who comes to claim the dog throws her into a fluster.
The upperclassman she secretly loved, who disappeared from everyone's sight after high school graduation, is standing right in front of her.
“I live on the 16th floor. I just moved in last week.”
“This little rascal can jump up on the shoe cabinet and open the door. I’ll change the lock later.”
“It probably saw you in the elevator. I guess it likes you.”
Ye Fengxu speaks with a helpless tone, lowering his head to pat the corgi. He seems to have completely forgotten the few times they met years ago.
“If it comes over again, give me a call,” he says.
“Okay, I will,” she replies.
She turns around, her tightly clenched palm slightly damp with sweat.
She isn't the only one feeling this way.

A passerby stares in surprise at the boy asking to borrow their phone. His lip is bruised, there's blood at the corner of his eye, and the collar of his T-shirt is torn. Hesitantly, they ask, “Do you still want to send it?”
Ye Fengxu falls silent. A few seconds later, he closes his eyes and shakes his head. “No. Thanks.”
There is a text message he hurriedly typed on his phone, but gave up sending.
Happy birthday. I hope everything goes well.
