Guide with the bearing of a mountain's peak x unruly, flamboyant Sentinel | Switch pairing | Equally matched
-
After three years of exile at the border, Guide Shen Ci returned to the First District to resume her post.
At thirty, she had personally handled countless cases of Sentinel misconduct, and hundreds had been permanently stripped of their military status.
The stern, icy inspector who valued rules above all was forced by the Tower's matching system to bond with the most unruly Sentinel of all.
-
Gu Xingzhou was the military's youngest major, a hedonistic social butterfly.
She had every flaw of a spoiled rich kid, yet a combat record rated S in every category. Everyone knew she was an unstable factor who refused Guide treatment.
She had always scorned her 98% match rate, until the famously cold inspector sent her a date invitation in the simulated battlefield.
-
Shen Ci: "I'm here to guide you, not to bond with you."
What Gu Xingzhou heard: Bond with you.
-
Shen Ci was an aloof beauty who always behaved with impeccable decorum and kept people at a distance.
The proper lady wore a suppressor year-round, and no one had ever seen her lose control.
Others were enchanted by the beauty of her appearance, but only Gu Xingzhou loved her unbreakable inner coldness.
*Wasteland setting, with heaps of original worldbuilding.
