Shen Li thinks people are all masochists. Pei Ningjun trampled on her twenty-year-old heart, then came back five years later, pleading to get back together.

Back then, Pei Ningjun said she wouldn't talk about love, only passion. Now Shen Li gives her the same answer: I'm a good horse. I don't go back to old pastures.

She used to worship Pei Ningjun like a god. But after that god came down from her pedestal, Shen Li found that beneath her pretty exterior was nothing but a couple scraps of rotten cotton.

When Pei Ningjun was twenty-six, she had no idea that at thirty-one she'd fall for a young woman. She was an award-winning actress who had already reached the top of the industry. Three years after graduation, Shen Li had become a rising star among TV hosts, taking the spotlight by storm and anchoring a primetime show on a major network.

The variety show featuring acclaimed actress Pei Ningjun as a rookie contestant drew plenty of attention. On the show, Shen Li abandoned her usual style, asking pointed questions from unexpected angles. Even the award-winning actress could barely handle it.

They seemed to be at each other's throats, utterly at odds. But as soon as the livestream ended, entertainment reporters caught the two of them locked in a passionate embrace in a corner.

The story exploded on the trending charts that day.
