How Could He Possibly Like Me?

Liang Qian and Feng Jue had been married for three years. They were married in name only, with no real relationship between them. They even slept in separate rooms.

Everyone knew theirs was nothing but a marriage of convenience.

Feng Jue had fallen for someone back when he was a student, but family pressure later forced him into an arranged marriage with Liang Qian.

With his first love in the picture, Feng Jue could never love Liang Qian.

Liang Qian understood this perfectly, so he put away feelings he shouldn't have had and devoted himself to work.

Throughout their three years of marriage, he'd dutifully played the role of a convenient tool, never once crossing the line. He'd fulfilled his obligations as a "spouse in name only" to perfection.

Their peaceful days were shattered by an unexpected accident.

Feng Jue's car was involved in a pileup on an overpass. When he woke up, he'd forgotten everyone.

He only remembered his first love.

-

The day after Feng Jue was discharged from the hospital, his parents ended his marriage with Liang Qian and announced that Feng Jue would get engaged to his first love a month later, with the wedding to follow soon after.

Feng Jue didn't refuse. He agreed.

Looking at the divorce papers that had been delivered, Liang Qian thought it was time for him to bow out.

He felt a little regretful, but still sent Feng Jue his most sincere blessings.

After that, he counted up everything he'd managed to save over the years, moved to a tiny coastal city, and contentedly began enjoying retirement ahead of schedule.

It seemed like everything had finally settled down.

One day, Liang Qian was crouched in his garden, covered in dirt as he pruned the flowers, when a shadow fell before him. He looked up.

Feng Jue had hurried over, breathing slightly hard, his face full of confusion.

"Do I... like you?"

"..."

Liang Qian was so startled that he dropped his shears.

#What do you do when your amnesiac ex-husband suddenly starts saying ridiculous things?#

#How could you possibly like me!#
