One night, concerned citizen Gandalf caught a certain Mr. Voldemort breaking into a house and trying to murder someone. Four people were hit by Avada Kedavra that night, but none of them truly died. The curse didn't kill James and Lily. Instead, it rebounded onto Voldemort and turned him into the One Ring. Just then, the Dark Lord Sauron burst in, grabbed the ring, and ran. On his way out, he cast Avada Kedavra at Gandalf, turning him into a girl. The Killing Curse seems to have undergone some strange changes, and Gandalf may be the only one who knows why.

"I woke up this morning and got harassed by three con artists. Two of them claimed to be my parents, and one claimed to be my parents' guardian. Then my godfather told me he wanted to see me. As soon as I walked in, three black-haired men surrounded me, each claiming to be my godfather. One was a fugitive, one was a vampire, and one was named Aragorn. I went to Ron's place to vent, and found two stick-figure pigs at his house. They called themselves George and Fred and showed me their new toy. A little man was sitting on a chocolate frog, claiming to be Cedric Diggory. I hurried back to Hogwarts to report everything to Dumbledore. As soon as I entered the headmaster's office, he asked me, 'Are you Dumbledore's favorite student?'"
The day after this information was received, a new patient was admitted to the psychiatric ward at St. Mungo's Hospital.
