I was born at the bottom of the pleasure district by the Rashomon River. I was blessed with an extraordinary, peerless beauty.
As a defenseless little girl, I relied on my older brother, Gyutaro, to protect this jewel-like beauty of mine.
His face was covered in scars, and he was thin and frail. Whenever he walked the streets, people despised him for being filthy and ugly.
But on snowy days, he would hide with me in the straw to keep warm. In a voice trembling with cold, he would comfort me, promising that everything would get better. After finishing his work, he would eat a sweet potato himself but buy me delicious inari sushi.
He said I was his pride and that he would protect me forever.
One day, I had a nightmare.
I dreamed that I was burned to death somewhere my brother couldn't see. To keep me alive, my brother became an ugly demon, only to die a miserable death at the hands of a demon slayer.
I don't want that ending!
I absolutely, absolutely, absolutely won't let my brother die!
Reader's Notes
1. First-person narration. The heroine is Daki, but here she still uses her old name, Mei. She does not become a demon, and later she and her brother will change their names.
2. The pairing might be with Sukuna, but I'm not sure. If not, there will be no pairing. I want to write a wilful, bad-tempered little girl x the even more bad-tempered King of Curses, a case of bad people getting what's coming to them ().
3. A crossover of Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, and a few less well-known anime.
4. I got carried away after finishing the Entertainment District Arc and started this. I'm currently building up a stock of chapters, but I'm not sure how many I'll write. Apologies in advance for any out-of-character moments.
