One is a beautiful, cold-blooded assassin.
The other is a young deputy commander who seems upright on the surface but is secretly a flirt.
They circle each other and gradually draw closer amid the treacherous affairs of the martial world and the imperial court.
Lin Zhiwei was taken in by her master as a child and trained to be a cold-blooded assassin. She thought her life would always be filled with killing, until she met Shang Nianyi, her assassination target. Lin Zhiwei had assumed she was an upright official, but it turned out she was secretly quite the flirt.
Shang Nianyi's mother died when she gave birth to her. At five, Shang went with her tutor to Wuyá Mountain. She had hoped to become a chivalrous heroine, championing justice and living freely in the martial world. But her father's summons brought her back to court to investigate the case of the Faceless Assassin. She never expected to become the assassin's target herself, or for the assassin to come right to her side.
