1v1, happy ending, both leads are virgins, sweet romance, satisfying rebirth-and-revenge story
Cheerful sweet girl x formerly aloof and devoted to the Dao, later obsessive and corrupted master
After Yun Zhiyao fell into demonic cultivation, she went from a dazzlingly gifted sword cultivator to a witch hated by everyone.
Only when she died did she realize that she was merely the villain in a book.
All her blood-soaked vendettas amounted to nothing more than a few lines in the story, serving as a backdrop to showcase the male and female leads' righteousness.
Yun Zhiyao wasn't surprised by this.
What did surprise her, though, was this:
Her former master, who cultivated the heartless Dao, was a villain too.
What Yun Zhiyao hated most in life were the words "the Great Dao is heartless."
As it happened, her master, Zong Shuangjin, the revered Sword Venerable, embodied those words perfectly.
She was his only disciple, yet there was none of the affection that should exist between master and disciple.
Zong Shuangjin was proud and cold, like a suffocating cage that held her captive.
So after she fell into demonic cultivation, the first thing she did was break the sword he had forged for her right in front of him.
But after her death, following the story's plot, Zong Shuangjin developed a heart demon, fell into the demonic realm, and killed every obstacle in his path, becoming the Demon Lord.
He broke his own sword as well, then sealed it and her body inside an ice coffin. He was willing to overturn the entire cultivation world to bring her back to life.
Yun Zhiyao did not come back to life, but she was reborn.
She returned to the time before she learned the truth of her origins, when she was still Zong Shuangjin's only disciple.
On the Lantern Festival, everyone gave their lanterns to the person they loved.
With her noble status, beautiful appearance, and striking bearing, she drew countless cultivators who vied for her affection.
Yun Zhiyao was thoroughly fed up with them.
Just as she was about to refuse, the figure standing in the distance caught her eye. As if possessed, she blurted out a lie: "I already have someone I love."
Someone refused to give up and asked, "Who?"
Yun Zhiyao blinked. Her voice rang out, clear as a silver bell.
"I've been in love with him for a very long time."
"And who is he? Why, the esteemed Sword Venerable, my master, of course."
She put particular emphasis on "master" and turned her head slightly. Just as she'd hoped, she saw Zong Shuangjin's figure stiffen.
