Xu Zheng was a diligent office drone. Before he died suddenly from overwork, all he could think about was saving up to buy a house, so his cat would have a big place to run around in.

Unexpectedly, when he died after another late night at work, he transmigrated.

He had arrived in an ancient society overrun by demons and monsters.

That was all right. As an ordinary person, he could still farm and support himself. It was a pity that his cat probably wouldn't survive either. He hoped some kind soul would adopt it.

By the bun shop in town, Xu Zheng spotted a little tabby cat. It looked so much like his own cat. Just like his cat when they first met, it was a stray.

Linu was a nine-tailed cat demon. When its ninth tail grew in, it had to fulfill one wish belonging to the first human it met.

Only by granting that wish could it grow its ninth tail, but granting it would cost one of its tails.

Only if a human wished for it to grow its ninth tail could it truly become a god.

But for thousands of years, no one had ever made that wish.

After fulfilling its previous human's wish, Linu, now drained of its demonic power, met another human.

It flicked its tail indifferently.

Whatever. It didn't care anymore.

But it was given a new name: Xu Li.

It also heard the wish in the human's heart: that it would have a smooth and happy life, with all its wishes fulfilled.

And its own wish was this: that Xu Zheng would stay by its side forever.
