What's it like to date Byodoin Houou?
Igarashi Tsukimi: Thanks for asking. He's got a great body and great technique. Apart from being a little short-tempered, there's nothing wrong with him. As for anything else, I can't say, I can't say.
Igarashi Tsukimi is a tsundere who's grown up under the halo of being a figure-skating prodigy. He says one thing and means another. When praised, he acts modest, but inside he's thinking, "As expected of me, Igarashi Tsukimi, the world's number one figure skater! Hahaha!" (hands on hips, looking proud). But when it comes to the person he likes, he's very direct.
Byodoin Houou is the boss of U-17, famous for smashing the training camp wall with his one-handed light shot. Three years ago, he was still a fresh-faced young man. Three years later, he's become a weathered old guy. Turns out getting stronger means sacrificing your good looks!
Scene One: At their first meeting, Byodoin Houou sees right through Igarashi Tsukimi's fake modesty. He clearly enjoys being praised, yet still pretends to be humble. Tch.
Igarashi Tsukimi doesn't like Byodoin Houou either. The first thing that guy said to him was that he was fake. How infuriating! After seeing Byodoin play, he thinks he's just a big oaf who relies on brute force, nothing but a reckless lout, incredibly rude and crude.
Scene Two: Igarashi Tsukimi dyes his hair blond for his new season's program, then goes out for ramen with Byodoin. What happens next nearly kills him laughing.
Owner: "Aaaah! I know you, Igarashi! My younger son really likes you. He even signed up for figure-skating lessons, hoping to become the world's number one figure skater just like you someday."
After hearing that, Igarashi can barely contain his delight. "I hope your son makes his dream come true soon."
Looking at Igarashi's blond hair as if he'd made a new discovery, the owner says, "Did you just dye your hair, Igarashi? It looks great, the same beautiful color as your dad's."
Byodoin, who is eating ramen, chokes a little. He presses his lips tightly together and grips his chopsticks hard with his right hand. The veins on his hand stand out as he struggles to hold back his anger.
"Dad? His dad? Hahaha!" When he hears the owner's words, Igarashi freezes for a moment, blinks, then quickly gets it and laughs so hard he can barely breathe. He falls against Byodoin, looking at him teasingly. "Dad, hahaha, Dad!"
Byodoin lowers his eyes, grips Tsukimi's chin, and leans close to his ear. "You like calling me Dad so much? I'll make sure you get your fill."
