The Lucky Female Lead Quits

Lin Momo had a happy life. She was the real daughter, brought back by the Song family at seventeen, with kind parents, a sweet younger sister, a devoted lover, and close friends.

But she was unlucky herself, dying of multiple organ failure at the age of twenty-three.

As she lay dying, she opened her eyes and saw the figures who had kept vigil by her side all night. Tears silently slid down her cheeks. She embraced them all and wished them a bright future and a speedy recovery from their grief.

After she died, Lin Momo watched what happened next from God's point of view.

That very night, her friend went clubbing and hooked up with someone. Within a week, her parents had turned her room into a storage room and a pet room. Within half a month, her lover had married her younger sister.

Lin Momo: I have a $&^@*&$% thing to say, but I don't know if I should say it.

Only then did Lin Momo realize she was born under a lucky star. Her blessings could bring good fortune to others, and every person who had been around her had ulterior motives. She'd died young because she had been drained by their frequent, one-sided requests for her blessings.

Filled with regret, she returned to the day of her eighteenth birthday. Before her sat an extravagant black swan cake, and familiar faces looked at her expectantly.

"Momo, as the birthday girl, aren't you going to give everyone a blessing?"

In the dim candlelight, Lin Momo slowly let go of her utensils. Her fork clattered to the floor.

She smiled. "I can give you my blessings, but it'll cost extra."
