It's Raining in Macondo

I first came across the word "dilemma" in a middle school textbook. It means being caught between two impossible choices, and it could not be a better description of this story.

The names Macondo and Jose pay homage to Gabriel Garcia Marquez's One Hundred Years of Solitude.

"I hope you were born in Macondo, or never discovered it."

Theme: Writing about hardship, the self, losing one's way, and friends.
