Yun Jiaojiao grew up in the countryside. One day, she suddenly learns that she's actually living inside a novel.
Her long-lost brother will come find her, and the two of them will appear on a family reality show.
Her biological brother is a pretty-boy celebrity whose rebellious personality has earned him a slew of scandals ever since his debut. He's the celebrity with more antis than fans in the entire entertainment industry.
Since she grew up in the countryside, she's ugly and uncouth, and antis mock her for supposedly not even finishing nine years of compulsory education.
Before long, the siblings will be disgraced and die in a car accident.
The ultimate pair of cannon fodder.
Yun Jiaojiao: ...
So, on the show, she meets her brother for the first time and speaks softly: "Bro, I just read your fortune. You're in danger of a bloody disaster."
"Send me 50 yuan for KFC's Crazy Thursday deal, and I'll defy fate to change your destiny."
Her brother: ?
The antis: ?
Before The Stars' Family premiered, the internet's opinion of Yun Jiaojiao was:
-- A country bumpkin, ugly, and apparently into superstition.
Then the show aired. On camera, Yun Jiaojiao was using a divination board to tell her brother's fortune. Her bare-faced features were delicate and lovely.
"An offer to appear on a hit variety show? I suggest turning it down. I see ominous stars, so something bad is likely to happen."
"A company wants to poach you? Don't even consider it. It's a shell company, and the amount they'll actually invest in you won't even reach a tenth of their budget. Oh, and their boss is evading taxes. I've already reported them."
"This production is a good fit. The crew is small and the director is a newcomer, but your fortunes are good and your auras align. It'll send your career soaring."
At first, the antis scoffed.
But before long...
A variety show was taken off the air after one of its guests was caught in a scandal.
A company was investigated, found to have broken the law, and shut down.
A movie starring her brother became an overnight hit.
The antis: ???
So everything she said was true?!
Later, Yun Jiaojiao personally made her brother a top-tier star, renowned around the world.
Countless celebrities and industry insiders reached out, hoping she'd read their fortunes.
