A kind, steadfast bottom x a mentally unstable, unhinged top
When Pei Lingqing, son of the former chancellor, was serving as a companion to a prince in repayment for a favor, he met a child who was being bullied and used as a human medicine vessel.
He never expected the child to be the sixteenth prince. During that brief period of childhood, his kindness made him the boy's refuge.
Later, his family became embroiled in political strife, and the Pei family was exiled to the borderlands. At least their lives were spared, and they swore to stay away from politics from then on.
But years later, the sixteenth prince, the least favored of them all, ascended the throne.
He became a tyrant known across the land for his boundless cruelty, under whose rule the people lived in misery.
In the third year of the Tiande era, Pei Lingqing, a tutor at a private school in the borderlands, received an imperial edict from the current emperor.
"Summon Pei Lingqing to the palace for an audience. He must come at once."
Everyone in the Pei family looked worried. They knew how dangerous politics could be, but they dared not disobey the imperial edict either.
Pei Lingqing felt as if he were standing at the edge of an abyss. Every step might lead to eternal ruin.
When he returned to the capital after twelve years away and cautiously came before the supreme, universally feared tyrant,
the towering figure rushed straight down from the dragon throne in full view of the assembled officials and pulled him into a tight embrace.
Pei Lingqing felt as if his bones were about to break, as though the man meant to absorb him into his very flesh. Then he heard him say,
"Elder brother, it's been so long."
Pei Lingqing was stunned.
*
"Please... Your Majesty, take care of yourself. Let me go." He retreated step by step.
"Elder brother, elder brother, elder brother." The madman, eyes bloodshot, pressed forward step by step. "You said you loved me. You said you'd love me forever. You can't take it back. Let's stay together forever..."
At last, the mass murderer had obtained his treasure. He hid him away on his own ground, let no one find him, and would never let go, even in death.
"Save me, elder brother, save me, like you did when we were children. I'll die if you leave." The man in the black dragon robe used a dagger to cut open his own chest. "I mean it, elder brother. Look..."
When Pei Lingqing saw the bloodied man, he broke down. He knew he would never be able to leave for the rest of his life. Though his feet were free of any restraints, he was bound by the name of "Ye You Ting's child"...
Content warnings:
1. This return is purely for my twisted tastes: a wall-pinning romance. Don't read if that's not for you!
2. The top is genuinely insane. His mindset is closer to that of an unsocialized beast, a pure hate-fueled warrior who equally despises everyone except the bottom. The bottom is a beast tamer.
3. Everything is here to serve my personal tastes. If you have a strong sense of morality, don't read, don't read.
"Nowhere to Run [Nonhuman]"
A kind, straightforward college student bottom x a sinister, damp nonhuman top
Zhan Zhiqing is an ordinary college student with a kind heart who loves feeding stray cats and dogs.
But one day, strange things began happening at home. Every night at midnight, he'd hear dripping water, and the lights would go out for no reason.
No matter what he was doing, he would suddenly become unable to move, as if pinned down by a ghost. Then a cold, slimy sensation would creep from his feet up to his waist.
To escape the strange occurrences, he accepted his professor's offer to conduct field research and went to a remote mountain village.
Lanxi Village was surrounded by mountains and almost cut off from the outside world. Most of its residents were elderly. Zhan Zhiqing settled there and began his research project.
But as he carried heavy equipment into the mountains to conduct his research, he found a child in a deserted ravine.
The child was filthy and looked about seven or eight, but seemed unable to understand human speech and wouldn't answer any questions.
With no other choice, Zhan Zhiqing took the child back to the village.
The villagers went pale when they saw the child he had brought back. The village chief told him the boy was called Li Ergou. Half a month earlier, he had gone into the mountains with his grandparents to gather firewood, and the whole family had fallen off a cliff. Their funeral had already been held.
But since no one had found the child's body at the scene, and he was now alive and well, they took it as a miracle.
By coincidence, the house the village had lent Zhan Zhiqing was the child's home, so he took on the task of looking after him for the time being.
The child neither cried nor made a fuss, and wouldn't eat or drink. But he followed Zhan Zhiqing everywhere like a ghost.
With no other choice, Zhan Zhiqing took the child with him into the mountains and down to the river for his research.
But gradually, Zhan Zhiqing noticed strange things. The child would crawl onto him at night and lick him, stare at him with a strange grin, and glare sinisterly at any villagers who grew close to him. The next day, something bad would always happen to those villagers...
Zhan Zhiqing also discovered... that the child's skin could be peeled off, revealing an indescribable mass beneath!
He had to escape. He had to get away from this monster!
But when he secretly packed everything and reached the village entrance, a long black tentacle dragged him into the woods...

It didn't know what it was. When it opened its eyes, it found itself in a strange world of bright lights and revelry.
It swallowed the first living thing it saw, a little cat, then wore its skin and walked out of the park woods.
It imitated the creatures like itself, licking its paws and grooming its fur. It learned to rummage through trash cans.
Later, it wore many other furry skins.
One day, as it jumped onto a trash can to look for food, some children ran over and caught it. They tied up its limbs and kicked it around on the beach like a ball.
It hurt a little. It didn't like that. Just as it was about to peel off its skin and eat them, someone came running over, shouting, and rescued it.
That person's embrace was as warm as sunlight, their hands were soft, and it felt so nice to have its head patted. The thing called cat food was delicious, too.
But it was hard to see that person. It only happened once in a while, so it changed skins often, appearing in their residential complex, along their usual route, at their school, in the library...
But there were still so many days when it couldn't see them. It grew so anxious waiting that it decided to visit every night...
But they didn't welcome it at all and even sneaked away...
It understood. It had to wear the same skin as that person for them to see it, so it put on the skin of the dead child...
