Warnings:

1. The subject matter spans many fields. The author has a fairly good grasp of communications engineering and neuroscience, and consults academic papers and professional resources for other fields. Still, gaps in their knowledge are bound to cause inaccuracies, and there are some nonsensical, self-indulgent rants. Corrections are welcome.

2. Alfred appears fairly late. In the early chapters, he is the man on the other side of the ocean whom you are seeing on the side (though the relationship is actually serious). They share few scenes at first. The American route truly begins after 1952, when he evolves from the other man into someone who openly fights for you at the table.

3. You have a clear career-advancement arc in the Soviet Union. In the later story, you become Ilya's superior without apology, the sun of the Soviet Union. (The leader.)

4. The course of history changes dramatically. The Soviet Union does not dissolve, and the Cold War order will differ greatly from real history. Read with that in mind! The story includes extensive speculation about historical developments based on source materials. The author's historical knowledge is very limited, but they have done their best to research.

5. Everyone has blood on their hands, and everyone fights for their own convictions. History and human nature are always shades of gray.
