I Became a Hit in Showbiz Through Medicine

Lin Jinian, an imperial physician from the Great Song, transmigrates into the body of the ninety-ninth-generation descendant of the Lin family, now fallen on hard times. The poor descendant has nothing to his name and barely enough to eat.

Lin Jinian rolls up his sleeves. With the ancestral medical skills he's inherited, how could he possibly starve?

Three days later, he discovers he really can starve.

Doctors here have to attend a university of Chinese medicine, earn a diploma, and pass a licensing exam. His impoverished descendant hasn't even graduated from high school. →_→

With no other choice, Lin Jinian looks for work in another field and eventually finds a job as a celebrity's assistant.

Sigh!

If you don't study hard, all you can do is wait on actors. -_-

Movie star Jiang Lan thinks having a female assistant is inconvenient, so he asks his company to find him a male one.

The new male assistant is neat and handsome, with delicate features. But he doesn't even know how to use a washing machine, so Jiang Lan has to do his laundry after filming...

The useless pretty-boy assistant is even busier than Jiang Lan on set. He uses a silver needle to revive the director after he faints, cures the screenwriter's insomnia, and treats the leading lady's menstrual cramps. He becomes the set's beloved miracle doctor.

Jiang Lan's archrival, Song Chu, hears about it and comes over from the neighboring set to taunt him. "I hear Brother Lan recently got himself a new assistant with amazing medical skills?"

Lin Jinian is called over to take Song Chu's pulse. With his eyes closed, he feels the man's pulse. "Your vital essence is depleted. You have yang deficiency and kidney weakness."

Song Chu takes a moment to process that, then jumps up. "Damn! Are you saying I'm impotent?!"

Lin Jinian looks at him earnestly.

Song Chu asks, "What about your boss, then?"

Lin Jinian has never actually taken Jiang Lan's pulse. He walks over and feels it, then says in surprise, "It's rare to find someone with such abundant primordial yang energy!"

Song Chu: "..."

Damn it! That bootlicker! I never should have asked!

Jiang Lan raises an eyebrow. This little assistant is interesting.
