Hydrogen Peroxide

[Updates paused. I'll write this one after I finish the one next door. I won't abandon it.]

It should be a sweet school romance (in an alternate world where same-sex marriage is legal).

I heard the song "Hydrogen Peroxide" and really liked it. It reminded me of my high school days.

"In chemistry's reactions, you're oxygen and I'm hydrogen. I need twice as much of you for things to feel fair."

Who wouldn't want to have a sweet romance in high school?

Blurb:

On the first day after transferring, Cheng Xi (□□) sees the school bully, Shi You, caught by the head teacher for being late.

Shi You doesn't like the new transfer student. He thinks the little shorty is making fun of him.

So when Cheng Xi goes up to the podium to introduce himself, Shi You gets his friends to heckle him from below.

"Which Xi is that? The Xi from east, south, west, and north? Can I call you Cheng Xixi from now on?"

Cheng Xi calmly explains, his clear eyes looking straight at Shi You. "It's the Xi from 'coming and going, quick and nimble.' We studied it in 'The Little Stone Pool' in eighth grade."

Shi You had meant to put the transfer student in his place, but the boy isn't intimidated at all. Shi You smiles with interest.

A little scene:

Everyone in Class 12 thinks that after being embarrassed by someone, school bully Shi You is bound to get revenge.

Who knew that later they'd see Shi You chasing after the transfer student, sticking to him like glue?

Cheng Xi asks helplessly, "Shi You, why are you following me? I'm going home. Your house isn't this way."

Shi You stubbornly makes excuses. "Who says I'm following you? I can get home by this road too. All roads lead to Rome. Which one I take is none of your business."

Cheng Xi presses his lips together and looks at him, unhappy.

Shi You panics, the corners of his eyes turning red. He gazes fervently at the boy in front of him. "Xi Bao, you haven't said a word to me all day. Are you mad at me? I'll apologize, okay? Please don't ignore me."

Who would've thought that the little punk Shi You would one day humble himself and beg the boy to forgive him?

Back then, he teased him by calling him "Cheng Xixi." Now he calls him "Xi Bao" and is still afraid the boy won't answer.
