The Cannon Fodder Just Wants to Raise a Puppy

Synopsis: It wasn't until Xu Zui died from the torment of a love poison that he discovered the world he lived in was a book, and that he was nothing more than a background character, not even worthy of being called a villain.

In the book, he was aloof and proud, relying on his talent to act recklessly. He was an admired senior to Zhao Yuxing, the protagonist shou. But who could have known that the love poison that had plagued him for years was merely foreshadowing his death, allowing him to hand over all his savings to the protagonist as a fortuitous opportunity?

Reborn before the love poison could take effect, Xu Zui couldn't be bothered to get involved with the protagonist shou. He planned to watch and see how far the protagonist could get without Xu Zui sacrificing himself for him. But then a filthy little dog following the protagonist caught his attention.

The dog was dirty and foolish, but its gaze was so sincere it could burn. It seemed that once it chose a master, it would give that master all its attention and loyalty.

Remembering how the little dog had ended up in his previous life, Xu Zui's eyes flickered as he began to consider taking it for himself.

If you want a little dog that's already chosen a master to look for someone else, you have to make the master it recognizes... abandon it first.

He knew that even if its master abandoned it, the dog might not want to find another. It might also be hostile toward anyone trying to become its new master. So what? In the process of training a dog, the fiercer the resistance, the sweeter the reward.

When the man who had once refused to let Xu Zui come near him took his hand of his own accord, simply to beg for a moment of kindness, Xu Zui knew he had succeeded.

[Kink-focused story. The kink is the series of lessons the shou gives the gong to shape him into a servant more to his liking. In the end, they heal each other's scars. Keywords: taking by force, coercion/love, furry]
