[Brash, Cool Bad Boy x Stubborn Good Girl]
- "The day the rainy season began in the south, a boy from the north lost his little rose." -
The first thing I wrote in my brand-new diary was about him.
- On a midsummer night, by the light of the moon, I stole a kiss from your heart.
"First Meeting: Like a Dream"
- A ray of light burst into my dim, hazy life.
In the dark of a northern night, Nan Wen huddled and shivered in a corner of an alley. A boy crunched over broken glass and shielded her behind him.
Nan Wen was terrified after being harassed, but he didn't know how to comfort anyone. Awkwardly, he said, "Don't cry, okay? How about I treat you to barbecue?"
The boy was bold and unruly, yet he was the first person to make her feel safe.
After that night, she often wandered down that street, but she never saw him again.
"Fate: Hidden in Plain Sight"
- His name held two promises: let me spend the rest of my life with you, and let me come running to your side.
On her first day after transferring schools, she accidentally became the boy's desk mate. The moment he saw her, he remembered her: the girl who'd been so scared she'd cried for ages that night.
The boy patted her shoulder. Nan Wen turned around, and he grinned, brimming with confidence. "Hey, new classmate. I'm Xu Fu."
The instant Nan Wen saw his face, she froze. She thought she was dreaming, but there he was, appearing before her as if she'd just woken from a dream.
So your name is Xu Fu.
"Falling: Giving In"
"Xu Fu, can I be your girlfriend?" Nan Wen looked straight at him, her gaze bright, clear, and resolute.
She didn't want to hide her feelings, even if she had no idea how things would turn out.
But she never expected him to stub out his cigarette and laugh at her. "You're so well-behaved. I'm afraid even holding your hand would sully you."
"Dating me wouldn't do you any good, Nan Wen." The boy wore a cocky smile, but his eyes were full of tender affection.
"I'll pursue you."
But she insisted on pursuing him.
She liked the lazy way he looked when he smoked, the ferocity with which he protected her when he fought, even the tips of his ears turning red when he deliberately said the opposite of what he meant. Nan Wen liked him so much that she'd even like him setting off firecrackers.
He always acted like he was rejecting her.
But later, in the rain, he kissed her trembling eyelashes. "Nan Wen, you win."
"Sudden Rain: Bloom and Wither"
- The day they got together, she planted a rose.
- The day it bloomed, he broke up with her.
His name concealed a vow, yet he broke the rose she'd planted with his own hands.
She picked the rose she'd carefully tended and hid it behind her back, wanting to surprise him.
But then she froze.
"Nan Wen, let's break up." Xu Fu's words left her utterly stunned.
She even asked timidly, "Why? Xu Fu, a few months ago, I, "
He cut her off before she could finish.
She clenched the rose in a trembling hand as if she couldn't feel the pain, letting its thorns draw blood.
All she heard was his casual reply: "I'm tired of this. You're boring now."
"Reunion: The Rest of Our Lives"
After they broke up, he searched nearly every city where she might be.
On the streets of each city, he looked for her absent figure, hoping she had gone somewhere far away.
Until Mr. Xu, the rising star of the finance world, lost control during an interview.
In front of the cameras, Mr. Xu grabbed the female reporter by the wrist, his eyes brimming with countless emotions, but all he said was:
"Long time no see."
When she pulled free, a dried rose fell from his suit pocket.
After all these years, he was the one who couldn't move on. He couldn't live without her.
- Sugar was the sweetness with which he comforted her. Sour lemon was the pain of what he kept from her.
