After one night of partying, Room 622 in Qingliang University Medical School was rewarded with a power outage and an academic warning.
“Gu Zai, the counselor wants us to bring our high-power appliances in and confess.” Roommate 1 choked out.
“What? A 300-watt rice cooker counts as high-power?” Roommate 2 clenched her fist.
Before they could make it to the counselor's office, the apocalypse arrived.
Gu Xi stared at the half a pig's leg Roommate 1 had brought back and swallowed. “I want pork belly.”
Roommate 2 silently fished out a pillow-sized bag. “I've got star anise, fennel, bay leaves, and nutmeg.”
Roommate 3 opened the cupboard, revealing a whole cabinet packed with oil, salt, sauces, vinegar, and tea.
Gu Xi pointed at the delivery box covered in black cloth. “To be honest, I just bought ninety sterilized eggs.”
At noon that day, zombies howled downstairs while the aroma of braised pork wafted from upstairs.
The boys in the dorm across the way had stomachs growling with hunger. They shouted at the balcony, “Which idiot is braising pork even though the campus is locked down? Give me a bite!”
