Blessings Through the Four Seasons

When the people of Zhao come of age, everyone must visit a temple to have their fate divined.

Zhao Yanxiu drew a lot that read: henpecked husband!

He refused to accept it!

To change his fate, Zhao Yanxiu gave up his former laziness and threw himself into his studies. Two years later, he finally passed the imperial exam in third place!

To avoid being caught by someone looking for a husband among the successful candidates, Zhao Yanxiu applied for an assignment far from the capital, enthusiastically volunteering to gain experience in the most remote county.

After crossing mountains and rivers, enduring the elements and sleeping rough, Lord Zhao finally reached the desolate backwater he had been dreaming of: Yaocheng!

On his first day in town, the delicate Lord Zhao fell ill, and was rescued by Xu Siji, a refugee.

Lord Zhao narrowly escaped death. When he weakly opened his eyes and saw Xu Siji's ugly face, his heart sank!

No matter how much he tried to avoid it, he had finally met her!

The fortune slip hadn't said it outright, but Zhao Yanxiu somehow knew she was the one!

Lord Zhao refused to admit defeat!

He snapped at her, "Why did you save me?!" His tone made it sound like he was blaming her for meddling!

Xu Siji couldn't be bothered to argue with a sick man. She blinked, smiling brightly. "Because I like you."

It really was her!

Zhao Yanxiu grew even angrier. His chest tightened, and he was so aggrieved that tears welled in his eyes!

Xu Siji thought he'd had a change of heart and was moved to tears by her kindness!

The sick shouldn't get worked up.

She waved a hand. "No need to thank me."

Zhao Yanxiu: "???"

Xu Siji smiled sweetly. "I'm fickle by nature. Maybe I'll change my mind tomorrow."

Later, she really did change her mind.
