I Heard You Like Me

A roguish rich boy x a mild-mannered slow burner

At B University, everyone knew that Shen Yuning, the belle of the finance department, was Professor Xie's favorite assistant. He was so pleased with her that even when Shen Yuning tried to resign at the end of her sophomore year, she couldn't get out of the job.

That is, until the start of her junior year, when Professor Xie took on a new student named He Xilan.

With his lazy, roguish young-master face, He Xilan caused a sensation as soon as he arrived on campus, quickly becoming the center of every conversation at B University:

He was handsome, came from a good family, and was a professional race-car driver.

Though he was usually carefree and unruly, family connections led him to join Professor Xie's project team as an assistant.

He planned to coast through the semester and be done with it.

But when Professor Xie assigned him tasks, Shen Yuning proactively stepped in and took care of all the work for him.

When Professor Xie asked someone to fetch something, Shen Yuning made an excuse to keep him from carrying anything heavy, knowing he had injured his hand.

Even when they were playing a game and Shen Yuning had to name the guy she most wanted to go out with, she picked him.

He Xilan: ...?

Could she actually like me?

He Xilan went over every moment he had spent with Shen Yuning, frame by frame. Before long, he admitted the truth: he had fallen for her too.

But on the day he was preparing to confess, Shen Yuning successfully left the project team. Only then did he realize that everything she had done was just to get out of the job sooner, not because she liked him.

He Xilan laughed angrily. "Fine. I got ahead of myself."

It was the first time the young master had ever suffered a setback in love, and everyone around him thought he would take it in stride and move on.

But before long, the usually carefree and unruly guy was hanging his head pitifully, completely surrendering to her.

P.S. 1. A story about a young master falling for her all on his own.

2. Younger male lead, one-year age gap.

3. The university, workplace, racing club, and competitions are all fictional. Please don't confuse them with real life. The author isn't a professional, so feel free to point out any mistakes.

4. Updates before the book goes premium may be irregular. Once it's on the rankings, updates will follow the word count requirements. Mwah!
