Lu Zhuo is a retired martial hero.
After years of concealing his identity, he'd finally accepted that he could spend the rest of his life as an ordinary Imperial Guard captain. Then, all of a sudden, he became famous!
Rumors about him and Pei Yi, the openly gay general, start spreading through every street and alley in the capital. Everyone says he's Pei Yi's lover, and people begin spinning all sorts of steamy tales about the two of them.
Lu Zhuo: ...Why do you all seem to know more about this than I do?
General Pei came out to the world long ago, and he's had plenty of rumored lovers: princes at court, martial heroes in the jianghu, officials in Qingzhou, deputy generals in the north, enemy commanders, and a mysterious man who came to reinforce the northern front. They're all rumored to have been his bedfellows, so naturally, he doesn't care about this little rumor involving Lu Zhuo.
Lu Zhuo doesn't care either. He's got plenty of secret identities, and he doesn't think much of his Captain Lu identity. Rumors? Let them spread! After all, his other two identities have also been rumored to have affairs with Pei Yi.
But as time goes by, Lu Zhuo starts to feel...
Lu Zhuo: General, you have way too many rumors going around! I went out to buy a flask of wine and ran into seven men rumored to have been with you. Two of them were me! Are you trying to summon the dragon?
Pei Yi says mildly: How did you run into yourself?
Lu Zhuo: ...I saw my reflection in the water and looked in a mirror.
Pei Yi: You seem to be enjoying this quite a bit.
Lu Zhuo: Everyone sees me as a cuckold, and I see myself that way too.
Pei Yi says helplessly: Have you ever considered that it's because you have too many secret identities?

Reborn to Be a Scum Top
Huo Qi, the fifth emperor of the Dayan Dynasty.
During his reign, under the pressure of his powerful ex-boyfriend, he worked diligently day after day and night after night. For over a decade, he attended court every morning without fail, discussed affairs of state, and reviewed memorials until late at night, quietly serving as the only 996 emperor in the Dayan Dynasty.
As the saying goes, if you don't explode in silence, you'll go crazy in silence.
At last, after his powerful ex-boyfriend died of illness, Huo Qi exploded!
He wanted fine wine and beautiful women. He wanted to indulge in luxury by day and spend every night singing and feasting.
He summoned a group of pretty young dancers and had them circle around him.
Huo Qi: Yes, yes, that's exactly what I want!
As he held his wine cup, Huo Qi sometimes thought of his powerful ex-boyfriend.
Shen Ying was wonderful in every way. He was just too serious, too much of a workaholic, and too particular.
Did Huo Qi love him? Yes. He still loved him after they broke up. Otherwise, how could he have put up with Shen Ying's group of civil officials lording it over him and telling him what to do?
But he was the emperor. After sitting high above everyone for so long, even he had his limits.
He thought back to when Shen Ying hadn't yet gained power, when he was so gentle, sweet, and adorable.
Sure enough, people changed beyond recognition after being steeped in power for too long.
Huo Qi had. So had Shen Ying.
As he drank, Huo Qi thought, if he could live another life, he wouldn't get entangled with Shen Ying again.
He'd live in luxury and indulgence. He'd be a foolish, incompetent ruler!
Whoever wanted to work 996 could have it. He just wanted to have fun!
And then came the fruits of his 996 labor.
Huo Qi was watching the pretty dancers when he suddenly suffered a heart attack. His vision went black, and when he came to, he saw a young Shen Ying angrily swinging a fist at his face.
Huo Qi:!!! Weren't you dead?!
Shen Ying: Of course you wanted me dead so you could live it up!
Then Huo Qi realizes he's reborn at the point after his accession when he and Shen Ying were locked in a cold war.
This is their fork in the road.
They haven't yet become a pair of bitter lovers, so there's still room to turn things around. Huo Qi decides...
He's going to be a scum top!
He'll torment Shen Ying, toy with him, and abandon him.
He'll show Shen Ying who's emperor and who's really in charge!
Friend No. 1 looks at Huo Qi, sobbing as he clings to a tree in the hunting grounds, and asks the person beside him what's wrong with His Majesty.
Friend No. 2 sighs at the sky: Leave him alone. He got dumped and he's going crazy.

Theme: Find your true self amid confusion.
I feel that the supporting characters are not very likable. I thought Mu Yan, a dead kid, would grow up in the future, but he turned out to be annoying from the beginning to the end. He always caused trouble and always had problems with Pei and looked down on him. I don't know where his face came from. Those troubles were all the mess that Pei and the others helped clean up. There are also friends that Lu has made, such as Yang Chun. I feel that Yang Chun is an exquisite egoist. He tricked Lu into helping Ruyi Building. When he needed his help earlier, he didn't help and hid it from Lu for his own selfish reasons. Lu didn't care at all and regarded him as a friend. Forgive me for not understanding this principle of making friends. In the romantic relationship between young lovers, Lu's attitude always makes me feel affectionate and scumbag. It seems that no one has taken the initiative to break up all the romances he has caused, and he feels guilty when he comes to Pei. Every romance has a story, and even if you don't like it, you still feel guilty about it. It's quite embarrassing. I feel that Lu is really indecisive and scumbag in this regard. I read another book by the author and one of the protagonists is like this too. Maybe the author likes to write this kind of thing. Another point is that there are always people in the article who have opinions about Pei and lack respect for him. I am really convinced. Not to mention that Pei is a general. Anyone dares to show his face in front of him. Do you still have any awe? Even a boy in the story (the one next to Mr. Shen) can scold Pei. Sometimes I feel really unworthy of Pei, and I feel that the author is really partial. He has a good reputation for Lu, and he is deeply affectionate for Lu. Pei feels that there are a lot of bad people around him. In the end, Pei doesn't care. From the beginning to the end, he never clarifies or helps Pei clear his name, which makes him feel very aggrieved. If it weren't for the fact that most of the emotional lines were sweet and had more sexual tension, I would really want to scold those characters. [Changed]
I feel like the extra story has perfected Pei Yi's character and is even more likable than the main story. It's hard not to have respect for this kind of person.
So well written! 😭 I really like the interaction between the two of them, it's so sweet!! I especially love watching Brother Lu teasing Xiao Pei, it's so sweet 🥺 It's great that such a loving couple can finally be together peacefully!!
Hahahahahahaha Daxia Lu is really in debt hahahahahaha
What about my comment? But the two are finally getting married! Marvelous!
It looks great, I hope you continue to work hard!
Am I wrong? Is there any relationship between the new emperor and Yang Chun?
The characters are good, the writing is good, and the plot is not bad. It is worth watching. I read my wife's column and it turned out to be my first work. It's so well written. I look forward to seeing you in my wife's next work.
Throw flowers! Love this one!
I really like this article. I haven't seen such an upright Jianghu article in many years. The author is Sai Gao!
