After plenty of twists and turns, it's finally finished!
Next up: "Lost in the East" QAQ
"1v1, both leads are inexperienced, married first and fall in love later, sweet romance"
Chi Ye's perspective:
Jiang Yubai was born to shine. Chi Ye never meant to drag him down from his pedestal.
Until that day
Chi Ye never imagined she'd end up at a blind date with her childhood friend, someone she barely knew anymore.
After years apart, they met again. He held out a hand and offered her a way out of her predicament. He said, "We're both going on blind dates to appease our families. Why drag someone else into this? Why don't we just make each other's lives difficult instead?"
Years later, looking back, Chi Ye finally realized that what she'd accepted wasn't an olive branch at all. She'd boarded Jiang Yubai's pirate ship.
Luckily, the ship was sturdy enough for her to torment him for the rest of her life.
Jiang Yubai's perspective:
Chi Ye was the moon in the sky. Jiang Yubai had never planned to hand the moon over to anyone.
Until one day
While studying abroad, Jiang Yubai saw Chi Ye announce her new relationship on her social media and realized someone had plucked his moon from the sky. That night, he tossed and turned. Far away in a foreign country, he couldn't see the bright moon, and it felt as though he'd lost his heart, too.
So when he later learned that Chi Ye had broken up, Jiang Yubai rushed back home. He thought he couldn't afford to lose the moon twice.
And so he spent the rest of his life building a pirate ship, disguising himself as a refined gentleman, and tricking his moon into coming aboard.
Luckily, the ship was sturdy enough for him to torment her for the rest of her life.
Bonus scene:
Married life was both blissful and unbearable.
The bliss was Chi Ye's. The suffering was Jiang Yubai's.
He was paying for his own actions. At their blind date, he'd said marriage was only to appease their families, making Chi Ye think he had no feelings for her.
So even with a delicious feast right in front of him, Professor Jiang could only look and not eat.
Even more unexpected was that the pig who'd once rooted around in his cabbage patch had returned, hoping to do it again.
That was too much to bear.
That night, Jiang Yubai downed a bottle of liquor to work up his courage, then cornered Chi Ye on the sofa and pushed her down onto it.
"Teacher Chi, we've been married for so long. Why not try falling for me? You won't regret it."
Theme: It's better to watch other people fall in love.
