Not every beautiful girl wants to become a magical girl. Take Shindo Nakuru, for example.
Besides, saving the world doesn't necessarily mean doing inexplicable things like playing some kind of dating game with a bunch of men. To Shindo Nakuru, a mature adult, that would be as pointless as an eighty-year-old woman wearing fishnet stockings with holes in them.
But the System was free to do as it pleased, and she had no choice.
"To save a world on the verge of collapse, Shindo Nakuru, I call upon your power. Magical Girl Ruka-chan, transform!"
After chanting the spell without a hint of inflection and wriggling her limbs in a bizarre way, Shindo Nakuru struck a pose she had never imagined herself making in her life. The last thread of her sanity snapped.
"Aaaaah, Lady Nakuru!"
After dodging the assault of a one-ton magical staff, the orb timidly poked its head out from behind the nearby cover. Tears poured down its face like broad noodles.
"I'm a magical girl System. It's supposed to be like this!"
Under the oppressive force of black smoke filling the room, the System spoke pitifully. If it had hands, it would have been clutching the girl's leg and begging for mercy.
"You're controlling me."
The black-haired girl looked expressionlessly at the magical staff hovering beside her, apparently equipped with an automatic return-navigation function, and stated a fact.
"Because magical girls have to transform and chant their spells..."
The orb burst into tears.
"After all, this isn't your own power. You have to become a magical girl if you want to survive in a world full of danger!"
The System spoke with great seriousness.
"Lady Nakuru, you are the only magical girl I have ever chosen. You are the one and only true magical girl, in the past, present, and future. The evil witches will try to take your power away, so you need to master it, not only to save the world, but for your own sake!"
The glowing white orb appeared before her and spoke with utmost sincerity.
"Witches?"
Shindo Nakuru looked at it. Her abyss-black eyes reflected neither figures nor light.
"They're fake magical girls!"
The System huffed indignantly.
"Their existence can only destroy this world. The world's will has suffered long enough. If we don't kill those damn witches, the world will be destroyed sooner or later!"
"Then let it be destroyed."
Shindo Nakuru replied without emotion.
"Huh?"
The System stared up at her in a daze.
"B-but... this is your mission. You'll die too, you know?"
"…"
Even a setting where she becomes a magical girl is no peaceful world! Witches from other worlds arrive one after another, throwing everything into chaos. Any price is worth paying to become a god! As a true magical girl, Magical Girl Ruka-chan must fight the forces of evil! And... will there be a strange romance, too?!
Of course, that's the System's enthusiastic introduction. As far as Shindo Nakuru is concerned, she'd kill this source of all evil if she could.
But... is there something she has forgotten?
As a magical girl, she is definitely an unbelievably beautiful girl, so don't worry about that. I love Mary Sues QwQ. The heroine is goddess-level, and let's start by refusing to make her a lovestruck fool. She's not interested in romance, so don't expect her to understand hints or anything like that. Probably no CP. The unrequited love is confirmed to end in a haircut. Cast members to be determined...
