In 20XX, Oosugi Ayaka, also known as Ayaka Osugi, returned from studying overseas, only to find herself unemployed right after graduation. Every resume she sent out vanished without a trace.
She figured she might as well go freelance, playing games and livestreaming in her spare time. But she wasn't much good at that either, and her videos and livestreams attracted almost no viewers. Stuck at home, she also had to endure her family's complaints: “We spent so much money sending you to Germany to study, and you wasted it all without even finding a job. How can you face us?”
One day, unable to stand her family's nagging any longer, she stormed out and wandered aimlessly through the streets. Suddenly, she saw a news report on a screen about the upcoming World Games, along with an ad recruiting volunteers. Seeing the athletes' toned, powerful bodies, Ayaka made up her mind.
She would become a World Games volunteer!
After returning home, she hid her true nature and tried submitting an application. To her surprise, she got accepted.
But there was a huge gap between her ideal and reality. In her imagination, she would be using her fluent English and German to chat with athletes from all over the world and help them out. In reality, she was a gym receptionist, and almost all the athletes she served were from her own country.
Ayaka accepted reality and prepared to slack off. Yet somehow, she got to know a whole bunch of athletes from her country: volleyball, basketball, baseball, running, swimming, tennis, and soccer players. In just a little over ten days, they had all become familiar with one another.
