The Captive Empress

Synopsis for Imprisoned Empress

Xiao Li was born into a distinguished family and married into the imperial house when she came of age, becoming empress of the realm.

But before three years had passed, the emperor died, and Xiao Li became empress dowager at just eighteen.

Everyone knows that the current empress dowager favors handsome, fair-skinned men. Some despise her for it, while others go to great lengths to send men her way.

Yet no one can match the beauty of Shen Fuyu, the Nanman hostage prince.

Everyone who has seen Shen Fuyu bets he won't escape the empress dowager's clutches.

Xiao Li lives up to their expectations. She keeps him captive and breaks his proud spirit, all for her own pleasure.

Later, the world is turned upside down. The dynasty falls, and Xiao Li falls into the hands of the Nanman people.

By then, the Nanman hostage prince is looking at her with nothing but disgust, as if she were something filthy he must never touch.

Xiao Li thinks he hates her with all his heart, and Shen Fuyu does indeed hate her with all his heart.

He hates that he has never been the only one in her heart.

He draws a cage around her, making sure she sees only him and no one else.

Late one quiet night, in the imperial bedchamber.

Shen Fuyu presses her: "Is Your Majesty satisfied with this servant's service?"

Later, the young emperor defies the world and marries the previous dynasty's empress dowager as his empress.
