The Fake Heiress Goes Viral on a Poverty Alleviation Reality Show

Yan Youning transmigrated into a novel as a fake heiress.

After it was discovered that the real and fake heiresses had been switched at birth, they each returned to their own families. The fake heiress couldn't accept the huge change when she went back to the countryside, and started throwing tantrums and complaining about everything.

By coincidence, the two heiresses joined a rural revitalization reality show, part of which was filmed in the fake heiress's hometown. The contrast was stark:

The real heiress worked in the fields, cooked and washed dishes, and got along with the villagers. She could do anything and won widespread praise.

The fake heiress was lazy and gluttonous, only causing trouble. She couldn't work with her hands or tell crops from weeds, and was roundly condemned.

At that moment, Yan Youning had just arrived in the story, right as the fake heiress was pulling up the tomato seedlings the real heiress had painstakingly planted.

Yan Youning: Fine, I'll come clean. I'm actually an agricultural tycoon.

She turned to explain to the director, who was off camera: “Director, this gemstone tomato variety won't do. It sacrificed flavor for commercial appeal. It tastes like a belt and doesn't taste good either. Why not try another variety? Just bring me some seedlings and seeds, and I'll breed them.”

[I don't believe a word of this. What would a city girl who can't tell wheat from chives know about tomato varieties?]

[Did Yan Youning cause trouble today? She did. She chopped down the village chief's century-old grapevine.]

[Good heavens! Yan Youning is wrecking her own plum tree now!]

Later

Director: Yan Youning went to an agricultural university? No wonder these tomatoes taste better than the organic vegetables I had at a five-star hotel.

The villagers no longer avoided Yan Youning. Instead, they swarmed around her: “Youning, are you selling your tomato and fruit tree seedlings this year? I'll pay a high price!”

The village official jumped up in excitement and slapped the table: “The tomatoes and grapes Yan Youning grows are high-yield and high-quality. Prosperity and poverty alleviation are within reach!”

The viewers in the livestream who had been face-slapped: “Enough talk. Drop the link! Open a farmstay! Let Yan Youning take my money as punishment for my shortsightedness.”

Later still, Shijia Village was successfully developed into a model village for the rural revitalization strategy, and Yan Youning became a model figure in rural poverty alleviation.
