Synopsis
My name is Shengu Lu. I was originally an amnesiac, not-quite-ordinary ordinary student, and I currently attend Teitan Elementary School. There’s a mysterious app on my phone that lets me read manga. By the way, no one but me can see it, so I often imagined I was the protagonist of some manga. After all, I’d already collected all the usual buffs, like parents whose whereabouts were unknown and a mysterious background. I was just one short of gathering seven and summoning a miracle.
Then one day, while walking home with Kudo-kun, I was hit by some unknown object falling from the sky and sent to the hospital. Along with finally getting my golden finger, I unlocked a new feature on the app: bullet comments.
I have one piece of good news and two or three pieces of bad news.
Bad news number one: In the future, I’ll become a member of some unknown organization with a chaotic evil alignment.
Bad news number two: I’ve been dragged into a game I can’t log out of.
I’ll leave the other piece of bad news for now. The good news is that I can see people’s profiles and favorability ratings, including those of nonhuman beings.
But that’s not the most important thing.
The most important thing is that my dear classmate, aka Detective-kun, is the protagonist of the manga, while I seem to be one of its future villains!
Help! I don’t want Detective-kun to catch me and throw me in prison.
After being made to stand as punishment for zoning out for the nth time, I was deeply influenced by Detective-kun. I was always saying, “That’s just fate,” but now I decided to make some changes, save some people or trip some people up, all so I could escape the “future” that it spoke of.
Years later, the main story officially began.
That mysterious app also released a manga called Detective Conan.
Applause, please. I, Shengu Lu, a not-quite-ordinary ordinary high school student, successfully changed the so-called “future.” Among other things, I rescued the police academy crew, as the readers called them, three times, as well as Akemi and other characters whose fates had left readers heartbroken, and I also tripped up villains like Rum.
I was happy enough that things weren’t following the script, but as the manga continued to update, I discovered that the “future” hadn’t actually changed. The “me” in the manga was probably me from a parallel world, so the “future” described in the bullet comments didn’t belong to me.
Shengu Lu: So what was the point of making myself so nervous I nearly jumped off a cliff at the boundary between black and white?
Shengu Lu, who had nearly driven himself crazy, mourned himself for a second.
***Reader’s Guide***
1) Updates irregularly, no romance, third-person narration
2) Reality and instances intertwine. Protagonist with a split personality, be warned
3) Don’t insult any characters, and don’t take the bullying too far
4) Infinite-loop game + bullet comments/manga. There are quite a few elements, so things might get messy. I’ll do my best to write it well.
Theme: As long as you’re alive, that’s enough.
