Synopsis
Emmm~ It should be starting soon. I'm building up a backlog, so let me see how many people add it to their collections. Meow~
[Flowers bloom on both sides; one thought can make you Buddha or demon.]
[Hot-tempered, roguishly handsome man pretending to be a kind-hearted little sun x A beautiful, icy woman who holds a grudge and refuses to take responsibility]
[Gruff, roguish team captain x Seductive white-eyed wolf]
[Hua Weijiang]
He often complains that the surname his ancestors gave him ruined his upright, noble career. That's why all he's managed to become so far is a police station chief with a lowly title and a mountain of trivial work.
After countless times of acting like he ruled the world, he secretly dug through doors and tunnels and pulled strings behind his father's back, stubbornly giving himself a name that shook heaven and earth and swore to uphold the core socialist values: Weijiang. He hoped to make a clean break and rise again.
But his damn headaches kept coming back, so he had to make trips to the hospital every few days. Still, there was a bright side: his attending physician was beautiful and as gentle as water with him.
Then one day, when he pushed open the examination room door, a chill swept over him, along with an encounter more nerve-racking than catching a thief.
[Shen Zhimo]
From childhood, she was widely acknowledged as both beautiful and academically gifted. If you ask why the word "virtuous" was left out, well, when you've got looks and talent, what do you need that for? So she became an associate chief physician at a top-tier hospital at a young age, but was also saddled with a long list of labels. Apart from "a miracle worker with a scalpel," she was called "taciturn," "cold to others," "what makes her so special?" and "look at that sour face of hers." The more labels she got, the more often she was sent to work shifts at branch hospitals.
But she didn't care. She wasn't doing it for the money anyway. A patient was a patient, wherever they came from. Still, life always has its "but" and "however"...
[Their First Meeting]
Shen Zhimo chewed over the hopelessly old-fashioned name on the medical record, then recalled the man she'd glimpsed by chance at the building entrance: a mountain bike at his side, shirt collar half open. She raised an eyebrow. "Hua... Junsheng?"
Hua Weijiang's hand, holding a cigarette, jerked violently. He squinted at her. "Dr. Shen, may I ask if you never went to school? You got both characters wrong."
"Hmm. It seems your brain really does have a problem." She set down the medical record and looked up, her voice colder than an operating table. "Chief Hua, do you remember stealing someone else's eraser?"
Huh?
[Their Reunion]
Hua Weijiang had been especially irritated lately. As someone who unilaterally decided he had a girlfriend, he had no time at all to enjoy the privileges. One bizarre case followed another, and this time he was sent straight to a small town said to be haunted all year round.
After he finally crawled out of a hole reeking of corpses, he discovered that the tire on his trusty ride was flat.
After a long series of mishaps, at five in the morning, he nearly pedaled his newly replaced tire into sparks before braking to a stop at the entrance of his building. He narrowed his eyes at the woman who had just stepped out of a luxury car. "Where have you been?"
Dr. Shen didn't even look at him. "Taking private work. You can't afford to support me."
Officer Hua darted forward and pinned the beauty against the wall of the dark, narrow stairwell. "Did you really just ride in his car?"
Shen Zhimo tugged the crooked tie someone had draped over his shoulder toward her, then pressed her lips to his ear. "What else? Do you think everyone's like you, always giving in to their animal instincts?"
[Understanding]
One day, seeing a bunch of fierce-looking people in a graveyard, Shen Zhimo thought she was about to become a new ghost. Suddenly, a large hand grabbed her tightly. "Still taking private jobs, Dr. Shen?"
Shen Zhimo threw herself into his solid, burning chest. "Yes! But only in one particular field."
When the mist cleared and the smoke of battle faded, life could be simmered slowly like a pot of plain congee. Only then did Shen Zhimo understand that her so-called "delusion" was merely the last angry breath she had left while drowning in an endless sea. The man she had hated with all her might had given her her first real breath of oxygen.
[Take Note]
1. A story of salvation, one-on-one romance, love and hate.
2. The plot remains a major focus, and the romance is just as substantial.
3. As usual, the cases won't be simple.
4. Anything not specified follows the conventions of "Backtrack."
