Someone Else Won His Heart

My name is Xiao Tong. I grew up in West Spring Valley on Chang Mountain, where I was the beloved and respected senior disciple to all the younger brothers and sisters in the valley.

One hundred and forty-two years ago, I found my junior brother by a mountain stream, gravely wounded at the time, and brought him home.

He was beautiful and fragile, and depended on me with an almost obsessive devotion.

Forty-two years ago, on his hundredth birthday, I promised that once he broke through his bottleneck, I would marry him and become his cultivation partner.

Twenty-four years ago, someone tried to kill him. He disappeared overnight without a trace. I searched to the ends of the earth and climbed the nine-tiered palace, until at last I saw that familiar figure beside another girl.

I had thought that my junior brother and I were in love, and that we would surely end up together. Sadly, fourteen years ago, someone else won him over.
