After female celestial master Mu Jiugge died, she thought her soul would return to the underworld.
But unexpectedly, she transmigrated into the modern occult novel "Ghost Refining" and became a newborn nightmare spirit.
As a nightmare spirit, her job is to keep giving the male lead bad dreams, scaring him until he grows resentful.
Only then, after he dies, will he grow from a vengeful ghost into a great Ghost King, rebuild the ghost realm, and set the crumbling cycle of reincarnation back on track.
Such a noble cause is naturally her duty to fulfill!
Mu Jiugge was full of confidence, but she never expected...
The first time, before her head had even emerged from the water, he pressed her back into the bathtub with one hand.
The second time, before she could crawl out of the TV, he calmly rolled the ghost baby into a ball and tossed it into her arms.
After being thwarted time and again, Mu Jiugge, unable to scare him, finally grew furious with embarrassment. "Don't you know that disrespecting someone's job and making a ghost unemployed can get you struck by lightning?!"
He stared at her, suppressing a nearly frenzied desire, and smiled. "That's fine. If you lose your job, I'll take you in!"
Mu Jiugge didn't yet know what the man before her had gone through to reunite with her.
Later...
The unemployed nightmare spirit moved into the Ghost King's home. From then on, she lived a shamelessly thrilling and delightful life hunting ghosts.
A beautiful, bewitching nine-tailed cat, newly born as a nightmare spirit X a scheming Ghost King with endless tricks, all to win back his beloved
