Those who are lost remain lost; those who meet again will meet again. - Norwegian Wood
[Excerpt 1]:
In high school, Chen Fang nurtures a secret in her heart. She can fill the pages of her diary by copying Lu Yao's name over and over, letting out all the feelings she has nowhere else to put.
She watches him run wild on the basketball court. The boy in motion is the brightest shade of blue in her memories.
It has nothing to do with romance. She is content to admire him quietly from afar. But then, through one careless mistake, she loses her diary, and it eventually ends up in Lu Yao's hands. Fortunately, she didn't write her name on the cover.
Amid a chorus of teasing, she sees him lounging in the crowd, flipping through her diary without a care. He says offhandedly, "Hmm, nice handwriting, nice writing. Too bad the goddess is in love, but the prince has no feelings for her."
Chen Fang turns and pushes through the crowd. Lu Yao, you really are a jerk.
From then on, her hidden feelings are buried beneath dust.
[Excerpt 2]:
Chen Fang sees Lu Yao again at the entrance to Heiya Mountain, a place known as a mysterious valley of death that they're about to transmigrate through. He is the team leader, while she is the only female team member, frail and seemingly likely to hold everyone back.
Old memories rush back. Chen Fang sighs to herself, thinking it's a small world. She hopes they can keep out of each other's way and make it through the journey in peace.
But the moment she turns around, Lu Yao, chatting and laughing with someone, lets his carefree gaze sweep over the distant figure of the beautiful woman, seemingly by chance. It lingers for two seconds. His thick lashes lower, concealing some hidden emotion in his eyes...
