Yue Opera follows the line of popularization, and there are fewer people in the village who are elegant, but having a wife can't be considered to be superior to the village, right? There is no way to make a comedy completely literary. However, I am very curious as to why my sister thinks this is a macho drama. I have searched through all the archives and can't find a man like Liang Yushu who is willing to speak kindly to his wife. Macho chauvinism is like that of Liu Yulin, who insists on cuckolding himself and even treats his wife badly. The Wife is my favorite play. Although the story is a bit vulgar, it is cute.
Ah, comrade. There is a video on eDonkey of Wang Junan's version of Pan Wife, which can be downloaded in its entirety.
