Kageyama Refuses to Break Up with Me

I had a boyfriend in high school.

He had the kind of gorgeous face I couldn't say no to.

As for his personality, you can probably guess what it was like from the fact that he's my ex, right?

On the day we broke up, I swore I'd never see him again.

But Japan is ridiculously small. Just six months after the breakup, we ran into each other at a mixer.

What the heck! This is a mixer for my university club, so why is this guy, who went pro in volleyball after graduating high school, here?

He stared at me the whole time, making it impossible for me to enjoy the mixer.

I had no choice but to make an excuse and leave early.

But things were clearly not going to be as easy as I thought.

My ex-boyfriend, Kageyama, actually chased after me.

Then, in a slightly hurt tone, he asked, "Why are you leaving?"

I was speechless. "Why shouldn't I? So I can stare awkwardly at my ex?"

He looked confused. "Is your ex in there? Wait, wasn't I your first love?"

Me: "Could it be that you're the ex I'm talking about?"

He looked even more hurt, and even a little angry. "When did we break up?"

Huh?

So to Kageyama, not talking for six months didn't count as breaking up?

Well, that was fine. I could just repeat the breakup speech now.

But Kageyama suddenly covered my mouth and snapped, "Don't say it!"

He squished my face out of shape...

Help, Kageyama is just as tyrannical as ever!

Kageyama started checking in with me every day, right on schedule, to report on his daily life.

He told me every last detail, even what he ate for all three meals.

Who wants to know what their ex-boyfriend eats for every nutritious meal, damn it X_X

After a while, he showed up at my front door with a ticket.

Kageyama: "I have a match next week."

Me: "Um... good luck?"

He frowned. "You don't have class that day."

Was he asking me to go?

I sighed. "Fine, I'll come watch."

Kageyama: "I'll win!"

Ah... it looks like he has a tail wagging behind him...

Th-that's kind of cute!
