[Female Protagonist's Perspective]
Nan Fushi had just passed the college entrance exams when she transmigrated into feudal Qing-dynasty China, becoming a gege. But this "gege" was not that "gege": she was no precious imperial princess, but a lowly concubine in the residence of the Fourth Beile.
After accepting that she had become a "gege," Nan Fushi immediately examined the face reflected in the mirror. She was at the loveliest age of youth, with a sweet, pretty, innocent face. She didn't have the looks to become a seductive, wicked consort!
So Fugege, born to an ordinary family, decided to behave herself in the Fourth Beile's harem and settle for becoming a Noble Lady in the Forbidden City someday. But to her surprise, she lived up to her name and was blessed with an abundance of good fortune. Once she entered the Forbidden City, she became not merely a Noble Lady, but an Imperial Noble Consort, a rank far, far higher. It was completely beyond Fugege's expectations.
[Male Protagonist's Perspective]
Yinzhen awoke from a long, terrible nightmare. In the dream, he was a character in the book For the Realm, a Smile from the Emperor, and was still the Fourth Prince, Yinzhen.
The book featured a remarkable woman, E Mok Suqin. She had originally been a palace maiden who failed to make the cut, but after being rejected, her unparalleled beauty and free-spirited talent made her famous throughout the capital, captivating all the princes.
The Yinzhen in the book loved Suqin to the point of madness and degradation. But Suqin could not bear his ardent, obsessive devotion and instead threw herself into Yinsi's arms. Completely devastated, Yinzhen fell into ruin and ultimately even lost the battle for the throne to Yinsi.
Waking from the nightmare, Yinzhen decided that, whether or not the dream was real, he would find the remarkable woman first and then casually send her to one of his brothers' residences. Unexpectedly, events took a turn, and Yinzhen gained a Fugege with clear, shining eyes and a smile as lovely as a flower.
When Yinzhen first met Fugege, he only thought that the little gege smiled far too sweetly, as sweet as a juicy, refreshing peach. Gradually, he grew used to indulging and spoiling her, until she filled his eyes and his heart.
