My new novel, "The Aloof Chief Minister, Lord Xue", is now out!

This story is on hiatus!

A lucky farm girl and talented embroiderer X a frail young scholar who passed the county exam

Blurb for my new novel, "The Aloof Chief Minister, Lord Xue":

Zhou Qingluan, the second young lady of the Duke's mansion, had just come of age and was preparing to marry when news arrived that her fiancé had died.

Branded a husband-killer, Zhou Qingluan spent two years cooped up at home, waiting to be married.

One night, she inexplicably had a very sensual dream.

After that, the dream returned every night.

The man in her dreams was the youngest chief minister of the Grand Secretariat in the empire.

There had long been rumors in the capital that this chief minister was handsome and accomplished in both civil and military arts, yet aloof, celibate, and indifferent to women.

Matchmakers had nearly worn down his doorstep, but he remained single.

By chance, Zhou Qingluan met the young chief minister who had been so tender toward her in her dreams.

Blushing, she lowered her head and tried to sneak away.

But someone blocked her path.

The young chief minister gave her a searching look, frowning as if he found her somewhat distasteful. "You have designs on me?"

Zhou Qingluan's heart leaped. "L-Lord Xue, what are you talking about? I'm your sister-in-law."

Chief Minister Xue said, "When my brother died, you two weren't married yet, were you?"

Zhou Qingluan said, "I was his fiancée."

Chief Minister Xue said, "Is that so? But before my brother died, he entrusted everything to me."

Zhou Qingluan asked, "What do you mean?"

Chief Minister Xue replied, "Naturally, that includes you, his fiancée!"

Theme: Life isn't perfect, but don't give up.
