A Book of Metaphysics

As the saying goes, "Of every ten people born in the Year of the Sheep, nine are unlucky; the lucky one will sit on the throne."

Another saying goes, "A sheep born in the twelfth lunar month will spend life alone."

I'm a Sheep, born in the twelfth lunar month.

1 was born in the twelfth lunar month of 1993. Her mother died in childbirth. A fortune-teller falsely claimed that she was born to bring misfortune to her father, mother, and family, and declared she wouldn't live past eighteen. Her father left her, still a swaddled infant, at the door of a spirit medium's home and ran away.

A spirit medium isn't a fake who scams people by performing shamanistic rituals in the countryside. She is a disciple of the Ma lineage.

As the saying goes, "Mao in the south, Ma in the north." The spirit medium is a legitimate disciple of the Ma lineage.

1 was born prematurely and was frail from birth. She could see the filthy things others couldn't. As she neared eighteen, she encountered more and more strange incidents, leaving her no choice but to learn the spirit medium's craft to protect herself. She later inherited the medium's altar.
