Synopsis:
Lin Yu transmigrates, opens his eyes, and finds himself in a high-risk scenario involving an assassination and poisoning. He barely escapes with his life, only to go blind.
The good news: he's a prince of noble birth, and he's gained a golden finger that lets him see the colors of people's souls.
The bad news: treacherous officials are always trying to kill him.
His gentle mother is actually black as pitch in the soul, and wants him dead.
The eunuch who claims to have pledged his loyalty is black as pitch too, and wants him dead as well.
Lin Yu figures out the pattern: the darker the color, the more evil the person; the purer the color, the kinder they are.
Then one day, Lin Yu comes across a little beggar. The child's many-colored soul nearly blinds him, though, of course, he's already blind.
After saving the little beggar, Lin Yu finally unlocks the Survival System. He starts behaving outrageously in order to stay alive.
He's blind anyway, so he's determined to embrace being useless to the bitter end!
But life is always making things difficult for this poor little soul.
The little beggar he takes in becomes his bodyguard. Later, when they're close enough to share a bed and talk by candlelight, the beggar turns around and stabs him.
In that case, Lin Yu doesn't mind going a little crazy.
Like seizing the throne and staging a tale of forceful conquest.
Only later, he realizes that this tale of forceful conquest isn't quite what he imagined.
It seems...
They've switched roles.

From the ministers' perspective:
After coming of age, the blind Seventh Prince spends every day goofing off, doing nothing but playing with cats and dogs. He's a disgrace to the royal family.
Nobody even considers him a candidate for crown prince.
But then...
When a once-in-a-millennium flood leaves countless dead and displaced, it's the Seventh Prince who saves the people from disaster. He even braves the plague, searching everywhere for renowned physicians and stemming its spread.
When an enemy nation invades and the emperor's credulity sends a hundred thousand soldiers to their deaths, the court has no one left to turn to. The Seventh Prince heads to the front lines and turns the tide with his strategic brilliance.
The Seventh Prince comes into his own and becomes embroiled in court politics, only to be assassinated in the prime of his life.
As the people mourn, the Seventh Prince returns, not only with his sight restored, but also with an army raised in rebellion.
The people rejoice, the court falls into chaos, and the Seventh Prince's forces sweep through the capital.
The ministers cry out to the emperor, "Your Majesty, it's time to abdicate!"
The city gates swing open. The Seventh Prince reaches the palace hall without a single soldier having to fight, and no one dares stop him.
The prince they once looked down on merely smiles, as carefree as ever, and addresses the emperor on the throne:
"Father, call me Your Majesty."
