Her mother hated her so much she gave her an ill-omened name: Zao Ya.
Because of her mother's work, she had to transfer schools and move into the home of the new school's most famous student.
She was sweet-talking and sociable. Whenever the lady of the house came home, she would gush, "Hello, Auntie! You look beautiful today, Auntie! You have such great taste. Your outfit is gorgeous!" Her praise made the woman beam, and even her mother's pay as a housekeeper went up.
