The Years I Had a Crush on Takaaki

Important: This is a revised, reposted version of an old novel from two years ago. If you've read it before, you don't have to buy it~ The main revisions are: fixing the plot hole where the Police Academy Trio only attended school for half a year and couldn't have met the female lead; changing the reason the female lead and Takaaki broke up three years ago; and fleshing out Tooru's attitude toward his feelings for the female lead. New completed novel: After Merging with the Detective Conan World, I Became an Unlucky Bystander, paired with Kazami. Showing some love to an unpopular character is my responsibility. Thanks for your support~ New ongoing novel: Seven Days Sharing a Room with a Cross-Dressing Man, paired with Pinga, yes... the villain from M26. Showing some love to a character from a now-extinct polar region is my responsibility. Thanks for your support (bows) Synopsis: My name is Kanai Mutsuki, and I've been different since I was little. Everyone says being a police officer is tough. When you graduate from the police academy, people wish you good health and safety rather than a bright future. But I was determined to become an officer anyway, and not just any officer: I wanted to be a firefighter, one of the most dangerous jobs. And my love life was just as unconventional. To be specific, while all the girls in my class were admiring the handsome upperclassmen, I wasn't interested in them. Instead, I fell in love at first sight with one of their older brothers, a grown man already out in society. Reading guide: 1. Told in first person, with other characters' perspectives mixed in. This isn't pure fluff. 2. They have mutual unrequited feelings, but for various reasons they don't get together for years. 3. It has a happy ending. 4. The timeline stays close to the original, but includes some original elements. Basically, I changed the plot of M28 so the Nagano case is connected to the main story's Black Organization, letting Takaaki and Tooru get their revenge. Please take note of the following content warnings: ① To get the female lead and Takaaki to meet, the Police Academy Trio, who graduated seven years ago, temporarily return to school to help out and make an appearance. It's necessary for the plot. If you can't accept that, just leave; you don't have to tell me in the comments that you can't accept it. Thanks. ② Hiromitsu's death is never definitively confirmed. His later status is unknown, and whether he is rescued will not be revealed. ③ Because of the first and second points, the final showdown in the main story happens earlier, and as a result, Rei ends his undercover career sooner. ④ The original Red Wall case and its characters won't get much attention. The story will focus on the male and female leads. ⑤ For personal reasons, Takaaki appears with a beard from the start. Theme: It takes a little courage to pursue love.
