The Ten Years Before the Ascension Ladder Reappeared

During the Age of Broken Immortality, baleful energy emerged and evil beasts appeared, while spiritual energy steadily dried up. The cultivation world descended into chaos.

Later, in the year the Path to Immortality was severed, Rong Xu, then the lord of Zhongzhou City, and four friends died at the heart of Zhongzhou. They became five great mountains, suppressing the source of the baleful energy beneath them.

The cultivation world gradually found peace again.

Ten years before the Path to Immortality reappeared, Rong Xia, guardian of the mountains in the Rong family's Yanhuai Forest, met Wei Shu, Chu Zhouyi, Zhou Lindu, and Mingyue Lou through Zhongzhou Academy.

The five of them listened to the wind and drank beneath the bamboo grove, rowed boats and released lanterns on the Wenyu River, and watched the moon slowly rise and fireworks bloom...

During the year of trials, their two years at Zhongzhou Academy, and the six years stationed in the war zone, they weathered rain and injury together, and saw one another at their most wretched.

In that final year, they revisited the scenery they had once seen and met people from their past.

The year the Path to Immortality reappeared, Rong Xia, the twelfth guardian of the mountains, entered the Mountain of No Return and never came out.

It was as though a piece of the moon had gone missing. The five-person team could never be whole again.

Theme: Hold on a little longer. The clouds will part, and the moon will shine again.
