Happiness Comes from Scheming

[Blurb]:

Lu Chang, the God of War of the Northern Kingdom, and Xiao Heng, crown prince of the Southern Kingdom, were sworn enemies. They personally led their naval forces into a decisive battle on the Han River, and both sides suffered devastating losses.

Lu Chang’s legs were crippled, leaving him wheelchair-bound for the rest of his life.

Xiao Heng was afflicted with a cold poison that would kill him within three years, and he was stripped of his position as crown prince.

Three months later, the Southern Kingdom’s emperor sent Xiao Heng to the Northern Kingdom for a political marriage. When Lu Chang heard the news, he immediately submitted a petition requesting an imperial decree to marry him.

The Northern Kingdom’s emperor was delighted and promptly decreed that Xiao Heng marry Lu Chang as his principal wife.

On their wedding night, Lu Chang entered the bridal chamber in his wheelchair, only to be greeted with a cup of poisoned wine.

“Heh. Planning to murder your new husband?”
