Morofushi joined the police academy for two reasons: first, to avenge his parents by finding the person who killed them; second, to find his childhood friend, who had been kidnapped by human traffickers after saving him when they were children.
Seven years after graduating from the police academy, Morofushi has become a popular inspector in the First Investigative Division.
One day, after working late and saying goodbye to his chief, Morofushi takes his usual shortcut home through a back alley. And there he sees the childhood friend he thought he would never find again, sitting in the shadows, covered in blood.
Bourbon, the Black Organization's most mysterious intelligence operative, has a secret: behind the Organization's back, he keeps a blue-eyed cat who lives in the sunshine.
Every so often, Bourbon slips out of the darkness and hides in a corner to catch a glimpse of his cat.
But his cat is far too much trouble for his own good.
Furuya finds it incredibly frustrating that he keeps running into his cat at all sorts of crime scenes.
So he decides to teach his cat a lesson himself. If you trust people too easily, they'll devour you until not even your bones are left.
